Very mild spoiler warning for The Pitt. Major spoilers in this footnote.¹

Five minutes into the first episode of The Pitt I leaned over to my partner and whispered “This is the greatest show I have ever seen in my entire life.” This is not exactly true. But I can’t think of a single show I enjoy more than The Pitt. I would fantasize about leaving work early to go watch it. I preferred The Pitt over books, over an evening walk, over movies. I would not start an episode unless I was fully awake, for fear of not appreciating it adequately. Once I had caught up to the show as it aired I would bemoan its absence. I started ER to try and tide me over.
